Shepherd Neame unveils ‘pawsitively’ delicious new dog treat set to get tails wagging

Faversham brewer Shepherd Neame has just unveiled a delicious new treat set to delight four-legged visitors to its pubs.

Jude’s Ice Cream for Dogs is now available at 15 Shepherd Neame pubs and hotels across Kent, Sussex and Surrey. Made using dog-safe ingredients, it is plant-based and uses real fruit purée to create a tasty treat for all pooches to enjoy. Launched by the Hampshire-based artisan ice cream company earlier this year, the refreshing 100ml tub is strawberry, apple and banana flavoured.

Shepherd Neame Head Development Chef Simon Howlett said: “We have worked with Jude’s Ice Cream for a number of years, as they are a fellow family business based in the South who create fantastic award-winning ice cream. When we heard about their new Ice Cream for Dogs, it seemed a perfect fit with our pubs.

“Many of our pubs are dog-friendly and attract a lot of dog walkers. We trialled Jude’s Ice Cream for Dogs at one of our most popular walking sites, the Minnis Bay Bar and Brasserie, Birchington over the summer. It proved so popular that it made sense to extend it to a number of other pubs and hotels that regularly welcome walkers and dogs.”

And in addition to tasting good, Jude’s Ice Cream for Dogs is also helping to do good - with 5% of all sales donated to support the work of Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.

If you are looking for inspiration for your next dog walk, Shepherd Neame has created 11 Pub Walk guides, all between four and six miles in length, which take in some of Kent’s most beautiful scenery – and all start and finish at a Shepherd Neame pub. Shepherd Neame is asking dog owners to share pictures of their pooches enjoying the new ice cream on social media using #ShepsPets
